This weekend our parish is blessed by hosting 2 retreats for our youth. On Saturday, teens preparing for their confirmation are having their retreat lead by NET missionaris. Also, 30 or our youth group teens and chaperones are attending a Theology of the Body retreat in the Santa Cruz mountains. Please keep our youth in your prayers.

I am appalled, as with many of you, at the recent news of the Mayor of New York City and the Governor of Virginia! It is never a choice to take innocent life. Infanticide should not be an option. This nation needs to wake up! We, Bishops and Clergy, need to reinforce the teaching of the Church on the sanctity of life. Catholics, young and old, must be formed by the Gospel of Jesus. January is a month in which we focus our prayers and concerns to uphold the sanctity and dignity of life. During this time, across our Nation, annual “marches” and “walks” for life are taking place. January is a month which prompts us to offer our prayers and sacrifices for the protection of our “unborn” brothers and sisters. Please join our St. Bernard’s Parish community this month in collecting diapers to donate to the Pregnancy Resource Center. The Center provides over 28,000 diapers annually to those families in need as part of its ministry. Please drop off your diaper donations to the Parish Office during the month of January. The Center especially needs diapers in sizes 4 and 5. Thank you for your generosity!
