Qualifications

1. Must have received all three Sacraments of Initiation ( Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation ) .
2. If married, must have been married in the Catholic Church, or had their marriage validated.
3. Must be 16 years of age or older.
4. Must take training sessions here at St. Bernard’ s .
5. For those completing RCIA, at least two years as a fully initiated Catholic.
6. Must be a registered member of our Parish.

Time Requirements

Lectors are usually scheduled to read at Mass at least once a month, at the Mass they normally attend. If lectors are unable to read at their scheduled Mass, they are required to request a sub through our scheduling program. Lectors may be asked to read at special celebrations throughout the year.
