2023 PASTORAL COUNCIL CANDIDATES

Elections for the 2023-2026 term of the Pastoral Council
will take place during all Masses the weekend of June 4th.
Please vote for no more than TWO candidates.
(You must be 18 years or older to vote.)
 

Laila Bimemiller
I have been a parishioner of St. Bernard since 2008. I am an active member of the Ministries of the Church such as, Eucharistic Minister, CFC (Couples for Christ), an officer of the adult Legion of Mary and the presiding President of the Junior Legionary as well. If elected, I would be a valuable asset to the council as I am committed to whatever task is given to me. With my ability I can help others      according to their needs and interests in the parish. My family has been involved in some of the      ministries. My two boys are altar servers, my husband is a cantor and a lector and we both belong to the CFC choir. We all love to serve. “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
 




Robert Costa
My wife and I moved to Tracy from Livermore in 1991.  We have always been involved in our        parishes.  I was Grand Knight with KofC and transferred to Tracy council.  We have 3 boys, the Lord blessed us to be able to send them through St. Bernard’s School where I was involved in the Safety Committee and multiple school events. I am very involved with the Knights chairing the Tootsie Roll drive, Garden Ministry and support of the Seminarians through the annual dinners.  I also love serving as an Usher, Extraordinary Minister of Communion and Pianist for our Masses. This Parish has given so much to me and my family and I look forward to become more involved with the parish by serving our Parish as a member of the Pastoral Council.  Thank you!

 


Manny Gonzales
I moved to Tracy in 2009, and became a parishioner of St Bernard’s. I served in the army then I worked for the telephone company for 30 years, and then worked for the Sheriffs Dept. of Santa Clara County for 6 years as a tech, I retired in 2011. I have been a member of the Knights of Columbus for about 20 years and a Catechist for confirmation classes for 7 years. I have two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.


 






Joel Laubacher
My family and I have worshiped in this Parish since 1996.  Over the years I have been involved with the vocations committee and Adoration.  I retired six months ago and now have the time to attend daily Mass, help as a counter and get more involved in the Parish and as a Knights of Columbus member. I understand the purpose of the Pastoral Council is to study, reflect and advise the Pastor. I believe I can contribute to that end in a positive way.
 




Martin Spilmon
In 2004 my wife Vasa and my two daughters Elana, Sonya and I moved to Tracy and became members of St. Bernard's Parish.  My family and I are all involved with the Parish. I am the pancake breakfast Chairman and Past Grand Knight of Council 4041 and a Fourth degree. I am currently involved as an usher and with these ministries: the Men's, Lady of Fatama, the Parish Choir and the Garden. I am a   Veteran and, if I am elected, I would like the opportunity to listen, help and to serve you in the pastoral council.
